    Default STi - R Installed

Installed the STi - R last night. and i LOVE it. it's great not having my STI Driver on the windshield anymore. and only having my v1.
took around 2 and a half hours. pretty easy. my biggest problem was the mounting of the sensor on the bumper and keeping it a decent way back. i didnt have much to work with. flattened the bracket that came with it to make it longer.

Had a few Ka encounters. beat the v1 every time, once it was a good 30 seconds, once was about 15. the rest were about 1 or 2.

LED is in the change thing because i don't really need to see it, and i have 3 other LEDs T_T
the speaker is so loud.. it hurts my ears on full.

    tell me what you think!

    also uploaded languys great CD

Looks good except for two things. I would put some kind of wire loom over the antenna wire if you are going to have it that close to the radiator and the antenna is upside-down.

oh, please resize the pics. They are a bit big haha

Nice, Clean install. But as Capid said, the antenna is upside down. Nothing hard to fix though, just an alen wrench and 5 minutes. I did the same thing the first time.

Ya'll scared me for a min, I couldn't remember which way I mounted my antenna when I got it back from bel, ran outside and got a sigh of relief that I at least mounted mine correctly

Expect good range from the sti-r after you get the antenna placed correctly. I wonder why Beltronics advertised the install upside down.

The thing was, i was getting good range on Ka Band even when it WAS upside down, my V1 beat K band, or it was equal, but i expected that. but the STI r would beat the v1 almost every time. wonder what it'll be like now that it's the right way :O

A wet rag should be fine to clean it. I wouldn't use ammonia though since its caustic. The wire loom is not necessary but its something I used to protect the wire from abrasion and heat.
