LI Install - Porsche Cayman

After having learned a bit from a lot of the resident experts here, I just got my 4 head LI installed, by my excellent audio maven. The unit is still not activated, as I am waiting for the three-way switch, but I wanted to get input about the placement of the heads, before I start counting on its correct function.

Front of the car:



Front Heads are located in the only logical place:



They are level in each plane, but quite recessed:







The rear of the car (you can see the tail lights in the top corners; note the lights in the license plate recess):



The units are mounted low, in the vents immediately adjacent to the central tailpipes:



These are pretty deeply recessed, as well:



So, my questions are:

1. Are the sensors optimally located?
2. All bubbles are 'out'. Is this optimum?
3. Is the amount of recession of each OK? My audio maven makes the good point that any targeting would be so far away that the path would be almost parallel to the road surface, and would therefore not be blocked by the deep placement of the heads.
4. Any other suggestions?
5. I have asked on another thread, but anybody near NorCal who is an expert with a Lidar?

Too recessed. If you get an overpass shot or when the LEO is sitting at the bottom of a hill as you crest, you are owned!!!

You have to get the heads out where they have a clear view of the road.

Had a guy here who just installed LI's on a Porsche Cayenne and they were mounted similar. Got him from over 600' away with a PL3. We moved them and he was 100% JTG.

Stealth the ride not the install. All these guys want to make the install super stealth, but all they do is take a great jammer and turn it into a poor one.

Sensor bubbles in when you have them that far away from CM.

It also looks like they may not be square with the road, but aligned with the grille work. Check the LI manual for how the heads should be oriented, square to the road and level with the road surface.

They're way too low. They're not going to cover your tail lights, which are the most vulnerable part of the tail end. Your best option on that car (very limited options) is horizontally mounted, bubbles out, where the LP lights are.

The back sensors seem fine, except for the recessed part. You don't have many options on the back.

Front. You want the bubbles centered on both halves of the car. Your are not, but they would be if you flipped them over.

MUCH better! The LI slim heads are pretty shallow, and they should be able to slip in there without covering the LP lights. That's still a good ways away from your tail lights, but that's about the best option you have on that car.

fyi, you are getting some very knowledgeable advice here. This is really good stuff. Your wife's permission for you to get the Porsche, plus the countermeasures you're putting in, and all the time and detail you and the gurus are giving you on this thread, will end up giving you a true dream car.
