    Default Blendmount + Bel STI

Finally got tired of the suction cups that came with my STI, so I decided to try a Blendmount. Ordered it from Amazon, got a call a day or two later from a Blendmount employee asking what kind of vehicle I had and whether I had the auto-dimming mirror. Nice touch towards ensuring you get the right part.

My initial impressions on the Blendmount:

    • Very nicely made.
    • No wobble or vibration whatsoever. This thing is rock-solid.
    • A black radar detector alone is much, much less visible from the front than the suction cups are.
    • Angle and height adjustment.
    • Conveniently, my parking pass tag covers the mount entirely from the front yet leaves the antenna opening of the unit completely unblocked.

Overall, I like it a lot. While it is a little less "stealth" than some of the other hardwire installs, I've always mounted below the mirror anyway so there's no loss for me. Additionally, no more suction cups gleaming on the windshield is a net gain.

Yep, 80 bucks. A little pricy maybe, but hell, you can't take it with you.

I like the clean look of this mount even though it is not that stealthy. How do you have this wired? Direct to fuse or through the mirror?
