Snoopy have you posted this on the Escort forum? Escort has call this installer. If Escort is really giving them this advice, then shame on them. However, I don't think that is the truth.

I did. I hope this guy is lying. If he isn't, then shame on that Escort technician.

Thank you for the comment. We just returned, about a week before this install, from an authorized Escort training seminar with Escorts lead technician and he informed us that they work perfectly behind grills such as the Jaguars. They are very useful there and give a great comsetic look.
