    Default LI install Mercury Marauder

    Wow. Just, wow.

I finally got around to finishing this. On a friend's recommendation, I tested the LI with the front heads behind the grille. I laughed when he made the suggestion to place the heads where they are. I was thinking that surely I would have to move them to vertical positions between the grille slats once I saw the results. So I just slapped some 3M tape on them and stuck them to the flat metal housing for the grille clips. Easy to remove later when I had to replace them, right?

However, I got JTG on every run at every distance -- see pics and videos.

VERY happy with this product. Since it is behind the grille the heads should be well protected from rocks, etc..

My only question -- is the LTI Marksman an easy gun to jam? It sure as hell seems like it if I can get JTG from every angle at every distance when the LI heads are impeded by plastic. The bubbles are placed between grille slats so the receivers have maximum area given the setup.

Given the front results and that the rear heads are comlpetely unimpeded, I'd say my big ass is pretty well covered.

If this is not a statement that the LI rules all, I don't know what is.

    Comments?

Sorry for the shakiness of the videos -- "the camera operator" had to try to balance the camera and the gun and it got a bit unwieldy, but I think he did a good enough job of staying on target long enough for everyone to get the idea.

(The old ZR3 heads are still in the lower front fascia - those are disconnected now but in case they cause some confusion when viewing the photos...)

I don't have any countermeasures on/in my car because the LEOs tell me they don't work. They are a waste of time and money.

OK for some reason the images won't display full size, but if you go to imageshack and look up duhtroll, they are there.

Remove the .th from the link. And the Markman is no joke and is a very good gun for testing. happya$$ and I were joking a while back about how we used to make fun of the Marksman, because it looks so ancient. In reality, it is an excellent gun.

Why werent you shooting the grill/headlights/LP towards the end of the run? Just through the front window and sides of the top of the car? Great jamming... but I am just curious... seems like the perfect time for a punch through.

I ain't cuttin' no grille. If anything I'll turn the heads to vertical and place them between the slats. But until I see a reason to alter the setup -- like someone around here getting a new gun, I'll be leaving things as-is.

The guns in use around here are ultralytes and 20/20s.

Because the roofline is one of the farthest points from the jammer heads and the place at which some others have received PT readings. Same with mirrors, foglights...

Also, on other runs, the operator did shoot directly at the grille, plate, etc. at different times. Never once did he obtain any speed reading at all.

Not only did my LI completely protect my car, but on a busier road where I was driving and my friend was shooting, he told me that the LI would also block out readings on cars in front of me as well as behind me if they were within a few lengths. We do not have video of that but it was interesting to notice.
