    Default Radio Antennas

I'm a complete novice when it comes to this stuff as you are about to find out. I was wondering if I could use a good antenna like the spectra to listen to 2 police channels, cb radio channel, and fm radio. What I'm looking for is a replacement antenna that I can use a cb, scanner, and fm radio. I mainly listen to fm radio on 104.3 mhz but that isn't within the frequency range . I don't want antennas all over my car that's why I'm wondering if I can just have 1 quality one. Even though I'm 99% sure my fm radio isn't within the frequency range

No. You would not be able to hook them all up to 1 antenna as each one takes a different type of connection, especially your car radio. Also are you running a CB and a Scanner or just a scanner? If you're running a CB and plan on talking on it, without having a proper antenna you might as well be yelling out your car window while going down the interstate.

I don't plan on talking over CB. Right now I don't own anything but I want to get a 996xt and a nice CB when the time comes. I just don't want antennas all over the place

Yes, it will work. But NO, DO NOT DO IT. You WILL end up pressing that mic button sooner or later, and it will destroy both radios.

If you don't want Antenna's all over your car then this is not a hobby for you! If you want to listen on a CB then you need at least a 3' antenna for decent range. For a scanner for a good range you will need at least a 2' to 3' antenna. I think the shortest I have researched and read about with any performance is 16" to 19". If I am wrong then I will be corrected.

I'm fine with having 1 antenna on my car ontop of my FM radio antenna. I was wondering if I used a superior antenna than the cars stock one if I would get better reception. I'm fine with having one, now it's just a decision of scanner or cb. I'm leaning towards scanner. (bcd996xt)

I was also wondering what speeds a 3' antenna would be able to handle. I'm hoping if I ever do a top speed run or standing mile I don't blow the thing off my car. I feel like I would though.

Depends how heavy (base), type of mount, surface the mount is affixed to (and the force with which you slow down)

A single antenna, no. There are some pretty decent small antennas, but I do not know them well enough to make recommendations.

    For what purpose?

Are you looking for a countermeasure, or just entertainment?
