Default CB Radio / Wilson 5000 Antenna-Help Please

I have called everyone under the Sun in Virginia to get this antenna mounted on the roof of my Excursion. I want a hole put in my roof. I do not want a magnet mount. I cannot find anyone that well do this for me. I am totally not going to even try to do this myself. My next thought would be to mount it on the rear of my truck on the roof and bring the cable through the back through the third brake light housing and all the way up front. I am not sure if the antenna has enough cable to go that distance with out adding more cable. If I do this, well I cut back on my performance by adding cable ? The next option would be to mount it on the front of my truck next to the stereo antenna or on the driver’s side. If I mount it next to the car antenna well I loose performance since its right next to the radio antenna. The antenna is a Wilson 5000 and the CB is a Galaxy 919 from Sparky. Here is a picture if I were to mount in on the front of my truck

Try a CB forum if they'll reccomend someone local to do it. Look into the mounts for the hood, you can put one opposite the stereo antenna, on the passenger side and get pretty decent reception.

Go to a large truck stop that does CB installations.

I think the reason everyone is telling you no is because they only have drills, not hole saws. If you drill thin sheet metal with a large diameter bit, when the point breaks through it will jam the bit and pull the drill in and metal out, severely distorting the sheet metal, and generally f'ing things up.
A hole saw will make a perfect round hole every time.
Also try Motorola 2-way radio shops (remembering that they also work on LEO vehicles...)

Check with the truckers about what radio shop they would recommend.

    or

So long as you can clear the headliner a holesaw should do the trick. Use electrical tape on the saw portion so it does not penetrate too deeply once the sheetmetal is cut.

You've got 5 amber dome lights on your roof. Is it feasible to utilize the center light's hole if its big enough? Enlarging that hole with a good pair of tin snips just might work.

Most high end auto stereo shops will do this. Not the high-schooler type places, the pro shops.

Camping World also does installations, although I think they are a little on the pricey side.
