Re: New Detector Recommendation
^Could you describe the nature of your encounter? I'm very interested in that situation that you described to me.
By nature I mean, where the leo was locating, was he facing towards you or away? That kind of stuff.

The remote mounted Belscorts definitely do not interfere with the windshield mounted RDs. I've driven at least 50,000 miles running one remote RD and one windshield mouted RD at the same time and not noticed any interference between them whatsoever. I think The Veil Guy could improve his testing, but not because there is any interference going on between the RDs on the front of the car and the RD on the windshield.

No, GoL would not do testing like that. GoL does controlled testing. Jimbonzzz makes sure that every factor that can be controlled, is controlled, so that the results are as accurate as humanly possible. What The Veil Guy does is real world comparison testing, where nothing is controlled. These are two totally different concepts.

I never said they did the Window ones do he runs 3 sometimes at once ...a Test like that isn't worth the time
as for the remote mounted I don't know we never ran a test with a car with say a v1 in front of a car with a remote mounted to see if it hurts where it picks it up at
But We will next time because I want to know if the v1 leaks enough to mess up the ci range like it did my ix

^Let us know the results of your testing. I love testing that is done to see if conventional wisdom is incorrect, although I don't believe it is in this case.

Re: New Detector Recommendation
Ok so i was skimming through this thread with the hopes of a good conclusion as to what whistler would be the best to buy, and so far i still have no clue. Great information and great discussion though.
So, save the $$ and go for a XTR-695? Or get all the features and go for a PRO-68SE?
I dont like the idea of X being confused for K, ether one not do this?
--------
My 2 cents to some comments made:
1- Every Escort i have owned have lasted with no issues except for my 7yr old 8500.
2- Some RD's will interfere with the 9500ci, they just don't tend to interfere with its performance.
3- A longer warranty from my experience doesn't always mean its a better product, and usually doesn't.

I dont like the idea of X being confused for K, ether one not do this? all whistlers can do that becasue for them to have fast reactivity they scan x and k together and ka separate.
