To all,

I just got busted by a Spectre unit on I-64 West, one mile before the I-81 exit in Virginia. I don't know exactly what model it was, but it has 4 suction cups and it was right in the middle of the window. The car was a marked state police, late model (2001 maybe) Chevy Impala.

I'm not sure what the fine is yet, but the state police officer said there would be no points on my license. The officer did not confiscate my RD, and he did not seem to care that I had one.

I've been using my RD in VA for over 6 years, and this was the first time I got caught. The RD I use is a Cobra ESD-6060 ($20 Wallmart special in 2003.)

Time to start saving up for an STi.

It definitely will. I've driven by State Troopers with Spectre's on the windshield with no problems at all. It does get your heart pumping when your crawling in rush hour traffic right next to one.

I live close to that I64 / I81 junction; the state cops sit there all the time, plus they have a little office just off the Rt.250 exit, 1/2 mile away. I have the STI and never had a problem.
