Do RDDs alert to radar guns?

I'm wondering if the RDDs ever alert to actual radar guns. If so, it seems like having a radar gun in your vehicle would be a good cover story when getting pulled over for suspicion of having an RD. I'm thinking if they saw a Stalker or Kustom on your dash or passenger seat, they'd quickly say, "well, no wonder the Spectre alerted!" I know the emissions of the oscillators are not right on the radar bands, but it does seem that radar bands would cause falsing in the RDD. Am I mistaken on this theory?

The VG-2 will alert to Stalker 34.7 Ka units.

I did this test last night in the house (laboratory) and found at close range, both of my k band radar guns set off the Spectre, my 33.8 ka band gun also set off my Spectre, for the most part, my x band radar gun didn't set off the Spectre which was interesting since x band is closer to the bandwidth the Spectre is in. I think most of what the Spectre was detecting was "harmonic interference".

Oh yeah: and for your idea to work, you had also better be willing to pull out your FCC license to operate radar.

Does anyone know if Spectre's will set off other RDD's ? Also how much do these things cost ? They don't list any prices on their web site.

Sweet! A cover story is born! Not that I ever intend to spend any time in a no-RD state, but it's still interesting to know! Especially since Texas DPS is carrying Spectres for commercial enforcement. I have to wonder how often they jack with POVs that have RDs, just on principle.

Gotta say that I am a little surprised that the guns set these things off though! I thought it was a long shot. Glad I asked! Thanks, guys!

Not a problem and yes, the VG-2 and Spectre set each other off like crazy.

YES to all, Spectre IV will alert to Ka band and other Spectre/VG2 units. Example was a while ago drove past a cop with someone pulled over, the cop had a spectre 3 and it was detected.

I got a Ka IO hit a few months back, spectre lit up full alert!

would the handheld kband radar guns be the same
and how close would you have to be to get readings on the rdd.
i'd like to see a video of this i even have one of those ionic air fresheners so they say that set off the rdd's bought it @ princess auto two months ago and nothing yet.
i also have my rd takened out just in case they do pull me over. if the air fresheners do trip the the rdd.
