PA State Police uses three particular radar units; The Kustom Signals Hawk, (remote mounted antenna on the left rear window) Kustom Signals Falcon handheld, and most common and recent- The Decatur Genesis Handheld Stationary or "GHS".

And the PA state troopers do love to use Vascar also. Watch out!

Here in the southeastern part of PA, Phila metro area. I know for a fact that that PSP is using Ka also. This includes the following counties, Bucks, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton and parts of Delaware county. My friend is a state trooper.
The roadways that they use Ka on the most are I-95, I-76, I-676, I-495, 422, Rte 309, Rte 611, Rte 412, I-78 (in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton Area) Rte 32, Rte 1, Rte 13, Rte 413. So keep this in mind. They tested Ka last year in Troop M & K and it will become the new standard in the rest of PA in a short time.

Good to know, thanks. Did he happen to mention the gun used? Maybe the frequency on KA? Is the KA gun on this list? PA Bulletin, Doc. No. 03-2465

On a different note, I see way more PSP out during this last wave of smooth operator.

I'm late, but....hockey, beefcake JUST said they are starting to spread Ka across the state. It would only make sense that PA 'endorse'/authorize a Ka gun(s) for the SP to use.

I wonder how long it will take for them to remove the stationary ban. Why do they have it anyway?

Ohh..but there is. I guess they are changing it? The trying of Ka, then the approval, the next step just might be stationary Ka band.

I've never seen PSP use VASCAR (doesn't mean they don't though).

V1 saved me again the other night. Where Rt 581 intersects with Rt 15 in Mechanicsburg / Camp Hill. He was using stationary mounted IO K Band. V1 picked up hits almost a mile away. I was near a radar drone and the V1 was constantly flashing 1 threat (expected) for the drone and alternating between 1 and 2 threats (2nd was the cop). That's why I love V1. Escort/bel just would have said "beep" (cept maybe the 9500i).

Unfortunitly, my friend was following me and sped up to 83mph and was passing me right after I passed the state trooper. He got ticketed. Told him to buy a V1, or at least have a detector or some kind!
