Question Need Advice on a Dash Cam!

Hey guys, I noticed a good number of members on here have pretty good dash cam setups, and I wanted to ask, what are some of the better dash cams to use?

I have 0 experience in the technology, and would greatly appreciate somewhere to start.

I made a dash cam mount, its just the camera that I need. I can't just run my digital camera cuz it'll

    1) fill up on memory
    2) run out of battery.

I've heard of units that will erase the oldest clip while recording a new one, and I guess something like this would work best for me. I'd mainly use it for highway trips in case of LEOs and on cruises with car buddies.

Of the actual mount (PLEASE IGNORE THE COBRA. LOL I TOOK THIS PIC 2 YEARS AGO. I HAVE SINCE BOUGHT AN ESCORT. AND THE SH!TTY PAINT. )

and the view from where the camera can sit

As you can see, i have the mount setup so I can have a front and back mounted camera if i want..

I use the same thing. I love it. it has vibration reduction, so it smooths out shaking. my passenger seat back vibrates, but you cant even tell in the videos

    its not cheap though

it does 1080p, and its 16 gig internal flash memory, with up to 32gig on a flash stick

I've messed with the settings since i took these videos, but i haven't had any encounters to show the difference.

    should look even better.

I use a JVC Everio with 120GB built in HDD and a Sony Cybershot W290. The JVC for long trips, the Sony for short.

Unrelated but why do you have your Facebook page as your avatar aa2033? haha

Do the bells hanging from the rear view mirror serve as a tuning fork for radar?

I'm considering a GoPro HD camera, mounted on the windshield. Been looking at the ContourHD also, but its a tad pricey.

I just bought a GoPro 960 HD for the boy for his Skateboarding etc. I figured a GoPro would be nice in the truck as well. Compact and good quality.

I had a GoPro Camera it was the first non HD one. I had no complaints about it but i also had to buy about 3-4 pairs of AAA rechargeable batteries and 2-3 2gig SD cards.
