Trading in X50 for V1: Update I promised.

Hi all! Here we go on my very subjective impression of my old X50 v my new V!.

First I have discovered that in Utah, the local police are still using X...
the Sheriff's Department is using K, while the Utah Highway Patrol is using Ka. I believe the major cities are starting to use laser but I have only been hit once.

So here we go:

X50: Pro-Different modes of alert ie standard, multiple band indicator, actual band width.
Con-standard only gives you strongest band, multiple band is difficult to see for those of use who are sight impaired, band width..kewl...but cumbersome.
Pro-scanning mode
Pro-great filtering
Con-filtering challenged when POP is enabled
Pro-great accessory assortment
Pro-excellent range on X and K
Con-poor range on Ka even with POP enabled
Pro-Cost
V1: Pro-Bogey Count, signal strength meter
Con-Crappy visual band indicator. How do you expect anyone to see the band indicator led without a microscope (suggestion-next version use different colored lights, Hopefully Valentine will not charge extra for this. Remember blue costs more then red..lol).
Pro-magnesium case
Pro-mounting system. Looked half-baked at first, after using works great. Enjoyed modular plugs...easy to setup
Con-Vital extras such as case available for extra cost
Pro-absolutely fantastic Ka band performance...saved me the cost of purchase 10x over
Con-absolutely crappy city filtering. Even on big L mode the filtering of this unit reeks. I shut it down while driving in the city. Extremely annoying.

Did I make the right decision? For the type of driving I do...yes. And besides the arrows are way kewl. Its neat how the arrows move to tell me where the door openers are...lol!

Dont trade in your x50. Just buy the v1 and use it for 30 days, if you dont liek it send it back.

Actually, its all about not getting a ticket. Thats why they made Rd's in the first place.... its not all about seeing people getting valentines...
