I was returning home the other day going W. on I-40 at the 405mm. As always, my eyes are looking at the traffic coming at me. I saw a car from a ways off in the left lane and there was no one to pass (to me this is always a dead give-a-way by LEO's) so I brought my speed down to 75mph. Now this part of I-40 is a long lazy curve and you can see for a long ways around it and a car had just came by me (I would say doing 80 to 85mph. It didn't take him long and he was several hundred yards in front. I was behind another car that was at least a hundred yards in front of me. As this car coming E. on I-40 came within three seconds of the car in front of mine my V1 went NUTS!!! Right to 8, I mean PEGED the meter. This alert was very fast and only lasted two or three seconds at the most. It was not like any other Ka alert that I have heard, like I said the sound was fast like a quick burst had hit me. I never picked up and warning from the cars that were no more then a half to three quarters of a mile in front of me. (there were three)
Could he be using a PoP radar? If not what would have caused my V1 not to alert me when he hit the other cars that were up in front of me. I now he was not just waiting for me to come along. Jimbonzzz what do you think?
