Default Ever try to use V1 remote display with remote detectors?

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but has anyone tried to use the V1 remote display with a remote radar detector such as a Escort, Beltronics or others? I know the display would not have the same functionality as the V1, but I was thinking there has got to be a way to use the signal id & strength meter from the V1 display and add in the directional arrows based on which detector (front or rear) was going off.

I know this is a crazy idea, but would this be too difficult to do?

I would think that any detector with a phone cord plug might work. You would than have to use the v1 hardwire kit . . I wouldn't guarantee anything though.

It is possible but not without having some kind of intelligent gateway between the V1 display and the detector(s). The V1 display and Belscorts most likely have two completely different protocols. I have the V1 display protocol (from jimbonzz) but you still need the remote detectors (Belscort) protocol. I dont know if that is out there. Then you could put together a simple system. It is not as simple as just plugging in the RJ11 (phone cord).

Honestly, all modesty aside, if I had the two protocols I could whip up something in a few days, schematic, firmware and all but who is going to use it?? Sounds like alot of trouble and $$.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I guess what I'm imagining is a remote system with the sensitivity and directional features of a V1. That's probably my ultimate rd system. I know there are other remote systems out there (for a price), but I've gotten way too used to my V1 to switch to something that doesn't have the same functionality.
