Default V1 Rear View Mirror Mount

    As seen here

I remember reading a post a little while back about these mounts and that the user (I can't recall who it was) modified the mount in order to fit their car's mirror. I'm looking to do the same and modify it to fit my Evolution VIII, how would I go about doing so? Does anyone have any tips?

I've tried to fabricate something like this a couple of different ways but it always turns out kinda crappy. The hard part is to find a way to fix the mount so that it sits in the right place without being attached to the mirror itself, which flips up and down at night.

If one had an auto-dimming mirror it would be cake. Just cut a piece of thin steel or aluminum so that it fits into the plastic piece of the visor mount, bend to an angle so that it sits flush on the mirror while keeping the detector level, and use some strong mounting tape to keep it there. Add a couple coats of black rustoleum and it might even look good. 8)

Not sure if it's me you're talking about or not.

That's what I'm looking to do...I think I might try doing that since I really don't ever dim my mirror. I remember someone modifying the one that I linked to to fit in their car so hopefully that person can reply to this thread too. Props to thestaton for having a black Evo like me

maybe there's a way to use the RAM mounting system to hold the V1 (or X50 or whatever)?

Doesn't look like it but figured someone might have fun looking through there.
