I was just wondering if the "J" alert is active with POP turned off.

pop off = j alert still on
just got one this morning... junked a real cop
I've got pop on and turned off the false alarm guard. I live in a rural area and have had no more falses than when I had it turned on and yet I've gained some range on Ka.
Today, I got in the car and left the V1 on the floor covered in a cotton shirt. It alerted me to Ka radar in a trooper's car aiming probably 25 or more degrees off the side of the road at about 600ft. or more sitting on the floor of the car aimed sideways!!!
These are the same guys I've had a tough time picking up on flat ground more than 1500-2000 ft. or so with my detector mounted in the window. They are tricky buggers but not THAT tricky. I haven't had a good encounter for a while but believe it or not, I'm looking forward to one on one of my daily commutes home to see if the false alarm guard off is really giving me the extra range I think it is.
And..... this way I know (even though my V1 has never J'ed out a real threat) its not going to "J" out anything eitherway.
You guys' V1's go nuts when you turn the "J" function off????
Mine hasn't made a peep that it hasn't when the "J" function was on so far.
If you turn off POP, J falses will go down a lot, but I still get one very once in a while...
Thanks. Ka guard alert stays on.
