Default Not happy with the V1 yet, what a nightmare...

To make a long story short. I already have installed the lightspeed remote display in my rear-view mirrior and plan to install the V1 in my third brake light along with the remote audio unit. I had to wait awhile to actually order the V1, so I got a jump on the whole project and knocked those things out first. Now I am just waiting for my V1. I was finally able to order the V1 last week and have it shipped to my gf apartment in MD, since I live in VA. Her apt complex signs all the packages its tenants recieve and someone at the front desk signed for my V1.

Well my gf was never contacted about the V1 arriving and it turns out that someone stole it from a room that only personal have access to!! So I ordered anothe V1 w/ audio adapter on saturday and did overnight shipping while her apt complex looks inot the theft.I hope the V1 is worth it...

This seems like a common problem with apartment complexes. If they are going to accept the responsibility, they should require identification before handing it over to someone. I hope it all works out for you.

I understand VA does not allow use of RD. But you can still ship to your own address in VA. No? :?

make sure you don't eat the cost of this incident. it's her apt. complex's fault and they have to pay for it since it was stolen from the personel area. i would go as far as filing a report with the postal police because stealing mail is a federal crime. also i would 100% contact local authority in that area and make a police report for larceny. don't let this just disappear, this is a crime and should be taken seriously! you need to have something on record before the apt. complex just blows you off and your screwed. with the reports you can always take them to small claims court (without a lawyer) and easily win this case. hope this helps, take care

That is BS--make sure you get the cops involved as Im sure the Apart complex wont like that--but I be Dammmed if the front desk Signed for your V-1 and now its gone from a locked storage they have control of and they are doing nothing about it. Some heads would roll and I wouldnt stop till I got my 400 bucks back.....

Well the guy who signed for all the packages is now under investigation by the his supervisor at the complex. My gf has been told that she will be refunded the money for the cost of the lost package. I already contacted V1 and UPS both which sent me receipts for the total cost of the V1 and even a copy of his signature! I am so glad I went through V1 HQ and I should have my RD by tomorrow night!

They did the same with me. Ordered a returned unit on May 17th. It was on my doorstep May 22nd. V1 said they would call when it went out - they didn't. I just happened to look out the front door and saw a box. I usually just use the back door.

Teamquack - The post office won't do a thing about this, the RD was shipped UPS.
