OK, I may get spanked for asking, but one detector has to go back...I bought a V1 running .826 a few days ago and found myself royally annoyed by a lot of false positives, whether I was in A mode, l or L mode. I got an RX65 today, which is less prone to false positives. However, when it's turned on the V1 goes absolutely nuts-constanty reporting radar. V1 is on the visor, RX in the window.
So is this bad design of the Rx, or bad design of the V1? And do less false positives of the RX mean it's better, or just less sensitive to all radar? I want the radar detector with the best sensitivity to the real thing, but if I'm constantly getting false reports I'll soon start ignoring it and eventually ignore a real threat. Most of my driving is city, with some state route (i.e SR 83), and an occasional highway jaunt. I know the state cops are running at least some laser, don't really know about locals.
