I have my satellite radio antenna mounted on the inside of my rear window, will this effect my radar detector range? I know its probably a stupid question.

It shouldn't effect it. Sirius Satellite Radio has a frequency of 2.32 through 2.3325 Ghz. I have xm in my car and it doesn't effect my range.Originally Posted by six_string_superman
I used to have XM and I had the antenna inside on the dashboard about 18" under my V1. The XM antenna was setting off my Ka constantly. It would only alert at one bar of strength.
It took me a while to figure out what was happening, but when I did I repositioned my antenna outside on the roof above the passenger side and it never did it again.
So yes, I have experienced interference between satellite radio antennas and Radar Detectors.
Sounds like the Guys of Lidar need to do more testing.
I've not seen any issues with having my Sirius antenna inside on the front dash corner, while using my V1.

I have read somewhere that Xm & Sirius systems have caused slight interference with radar. I wish I could remember where I read that so I could post a link.
No problems with my XM antenna on the back deck.
Some dirtbag stole (or cut off, just to annoy/vandalize) my Sirius antenna off the trunk of my car this weekend, so I had to buy another $40, and I stuck it inside the car until i have time to mount it outside..(if I decide to..) . hasn't set off my V1 or caused any problems that I'm aware of .. yet.. it's about 1 1/2 feet below the V1 and 6 inches to the right of it..
The original came with my JVC PNP unit also didnt set it off while I had it inside the car for a day or so before mounting it.. the new one is a 'DEI' micro antenna
That really sucks man, people have no respect for anything that isnt theirs. Thats why I wanted mine on the inside, I dont even want my stubby FM/AM radio antenna on the outside of my car. I just got back from a road trip yesterday, my V1 seems to be working alright with my current set up.
