    Default My Modified Valentine One

So, I saw this done by quite a few other people and I decided to tackle it myself. I wasn't happy with distinguishing the visual warnings of my V1 at night between the different bands, so something needed to be done obviously I also wasn't happy with people knowing I had a radar detector during those night drives because that little bugger would illuminate my whole cabin! The solution? Getting a concealed display and modifying it to fit MY needs. I changed out the LEDs for 3 out of the 4 bands to easily distinguishable colors and now night time warnings are not only colorful, but very easy to determine. I'm very happy with how my unit came out.

I mounted the concealed display where the hazard light button used to be and it looks pretty good I must say. I'll post pics of the new location sometime soon. I've been running this for 3 weeks now and it's great... I definitely recommend doing this. I say buy one from those selling the modified units here on the forums or try and tackle it yourself! It's a fun little project.

Here are some pictures of my setup:

    Angled shot... stylish.

Yup, I got my LEDs from LSDiodes.com (I got the 0805 orange, blue, and green). They are sold out of blue at this time so you can head over to eLED.com for those. Good luck [/url]
