Well more great news for the V1, It froze up today on two different alerts (one real with a false), and the other was 2 false signals.... not to mention I have been getting X band alerts randomly as of late. (It gets an alert and it holds it until I reset it same arrow and signal strength is what I mean).
So I called VR today and talked to Mike, he was (as usual) very helpful and understanding of my situation... I told him whats been happening (he looked at his records) and found when I sent it in for service, we talked about that for a bit (He threw internals in mine that are above their average for Ka band reception last time, or they say that... but it certainly appears Ka is working correctly now).... then came the news:
It could be my cell-phone causing some of the issues. He said that sometimes when cell phones (especially the new ones with GPS for 911 tracking) loose a signal, they search for it, and it can disrupt the V1 because it is trying to get back a connection with the nearest tower(s), but once it connects the issues should (do stop). He said it is mostly with a certain kind of connection/phone that Verizon and a few other companies use (G****), but as of recently Cingular (G****) have been causing the issues (I have a Cingular service provider)... even though my phone doesnt have the GPS-911 locator chip it can still occur.
So he told me that could be the issue... so I now have to ride without my cell phone for a bit (I will give it a week or two) to see if that clears things up. He also said try advanced logic just to see if the V1's computer will cut out that issue.
We shall see I will report my findings about the cell phone/V1 interference issues... hopefully that takes care of it, or if that doesnt the advanced logic mode.
But if anyone has these same issue (or these issues occur with a new cell phone... its certainly something to think about trying... instead of calling VR.)
