Going down I30 this afternoon I got a laser hit. Seeing nothing ahead I looked for the usual suspects...LED 3rd brake lights....nada....then maybe 10 seconds later hit again....then maybe 30 sec later it hit and stayed on. There he was, about 1/4 mile ahead on the shoulder. Motorcycle LEO, City of Fort Worth. So, estimating my speed of 65 MPH and the time it took before I finally came on him, I picked up that laser at least a mile out, most likely more. It stayed on constant from the last hit until I passed him. I had plenty of time to see him, get over a lane because of the new law, and pass him. Strange, when I passed him, the laser quit but Ka to the rear lit up weakly. When I drove past, the V1 screaming, he was still aiming up the road...so the V1 was alerting even when he was at a 45 degree angle to me...but that could have just been latency. In any case, the V1 picked up the laser well in advance.
