I would like to hear from others on here on they're thoughts of VR offering automute on the V1. I think it is about time at least on x and k bands.

Well you can make it automute if you'd like - I don't like having it.
I think the next thing they put on the v1 should be a level on the outside on one of the sides. This way anyone who moves their RD when they park at a mall or work can just use the level to guarantee its level... as if my eyesight don't work
Or perhaps they could come out with a V1 that does better at picking up Ka band. HMmmm.Originally Posted by bauzer71487

When you say better Ka band what are you talking? 20 feet? How much better in distance do the other RD's do over the V1?Originally Posted by aaseavey

20 feet is better than no feet =d.
I would like to have it....that's the biggest thing I miss from my Bel985...it would alert and after 4 secs or so, keep alerting but as a click sound rather than the alert tone. That's what I would like to see...sure would be nice sitting at a red light surrounded by Walmart, Walgreens, Albertsons and Target to not have to reach up and punch the knob....not that it's hard to do, but it does get old.
And how about light up the letters (Ka, K, X) instead of an led next to them?
Two easy improvements that would make the V1 SO much better....

Lets not measure in distance shall we. Immediance of Response is probably the worst thing about the V1, due to the arrows and double RD antennas (IMO). What they need to do is get the V1 to look better over hills and around corners and too alert faster.
Do a test to prove it's immediance of response. Travel towards a known radar source at 10 MPH and mark where it alerted. Do this 3 times. Now drive the same route at 25 or 35 MPH. You will notice a considerable loss in distance to source
you can program the v1 to mute k band within 3 seconds of the alert, this only happens in logic modes and needs to be activated in the programing menu..
