Default Saved twice in 10 minutes

1st Bogey - Today was a scortcher in NJ however I decided to go for a ride. Cruisin down 287 N in the Bimmer with the V1. I get to a nice hill and I decided to push the car a little. I reached a high rate and then suddenly the Ka went off buzzing. So I then slammed on the brakes and took the car down to 65mph, low and behiold a marked cop car laid and wait in the safe corridor of 287 N. I then looked in the rear view and he still sat on the side waiting for speeders, LOL.

2nd Bogey - I then decided to push back up to cruising speed and stayed there for a little, when suddenly LASER when off ringing. I slammed on the brakes again and reached about 65mph. I looked over and saw another marked car with what looked like a Laser Atlanta Gun pointing right at me. The officer took his eyes off the gun and gave me a look, sort of like how did you stop in time, LOL.

Conclusion - The V1 works and works very well. Saved twice in 10 minutes at high speed, even with Laser, shows its capabilities.

    Thanks Mike Valentine

    Sincerely,

    Jeff

Good news man. How much time was there from the Ka alert before you saw the LEO? Honestly

    Good saves by the V1.

What makes you think it was a Laser Atlanta gun? Did it have 2 different size lenses?

Everywhere I read says NJSP only uses Ultralytes, but I swear I saw a Laser Atlanta on the GSP last Thanksgiving weekend...

BTW, here's a shot of a Laser Atlanta:

    And an LTI Ultralyte:

Ka alert time= since there was a hill I got about a good 10 seconds. I was to go from 100-65mph, but I do have a BMW, lol. I though for sure I was gonna get stopped though , but when he didn't move I was relieved. I guess my warning time was about 2-4 seconds faster then the Ka was able to read.

Location - 287 N the closest exit was EXIT 52, I have been stoped near there before by Pequannock police
The Ka was shot by a marked Chevy Impala Riverdale PD
The Laser was shot by Pompton Plains PD

Now that I looks at them it was defiently a LTI Ultralyte

Also forgot to mention how far the Ka remained in the detector even after I passed the cop, 1/2 mile is about right.

100 MPH = 146.6 feet per second traveled. You must of slowed down very quickly!

YEA, like I said im am still shocked he didn't stop me. However the officer may have been writing a report and just left Ka on, but IDK.

not to piss on the thread or anything but you probably just got lucky on the LIDAR hit (officer decided to give grace), the aquisition times of LIDAR are so fast that he probably had your speed before the V1 even made a peep, Jimbonzz or someone correct me if Im wrong but isnt the aquisition time like .3seconds for the LTI and the immediacy of response for the V1 is almost 1second coming from the SML tests last year. Again those are some good encounters and are the reason most people on this board trust their RD's so much, but it just isnt physically possible to outbrake LIDAR without VEIL, especially not from 100mph. And I have driven a bimmer before the brakes are phenominal but not 100-65 in .3 seconds good.

Of course they aren't but by the time Ka picked me up I was probably doing 75-80, still not worthy of being stopped. They like 89-95 guys.

As for the laser I agree he did let me go, there was 3 lanes of traffic and he probably figured he would wait for the next one. The times I have been stopped with Laser, traffic was very light.
