Just got a V1 in today, v1.7 2.909. It's alittle out dated, but I won't have to worry about any Jing out.
Well I figured out the mute.
Comparison thus far. Day Four.
1.) Going up to Jersey City - LEO shooting constant-on x-band at the other lane of traffic, great detection range, especially going away from the LEO - very impressed with x-band right now.
2.) On the way home, two laser false's, one ka-false. Not very impressed.
3.) Instant-on Ka-band encounter, good range and detection, pretty impressed.
So far I'm liking the V1 going upstate NY later today in the S4, gunna see how it does against Ka and NYSP.
1.) Today I'm very impressed with detection distance on X-band. Encountered an LEO approaching on a curved two lane country road with lots of brush and trees. Several cars in front of me and the V1 alerted probably 10-15 seconds before I even saw the LEO. The x50 never gives this good of detection with an LEO moving toward me. The v1 had exceptional detection as the LEO moved away, especially considering the amount of curves in the road and lack of reflectable objects around.
2.) Ka-band encounter, again the rear antenna on the V1 seems to make a pretty big difference, especially when detecting around curves and hills, this is a huge plus over the X50.
3.) Alittle upset that the V1 falsed x-band full for a few miles off a car. Also falsed Ka-band and laser a few times very randomly.
1.) On the way to work, Instant-on K-band speed trap. V1 performed excellent, maybe even better then my X50 would have. The officer was around 1,500 feet away when I got the first beat on K-band, and this was before I was around a curve and had a visual of the officer shooting away from me in an SUV about 1,100 feet. I thought this was really impressive detection.
To be honest, I don't think I really looked at the arrows to see where the radar was coming from, I was having a tough time seeing it was K-band on the rd.
2.) V1 picked up 8 X-band falses between two malls where I normally get 2 on the X50.
3.) V1 falsed laser behind a lexus.
1.) My x50 and V1 cannot be run together. The X50 gives out a low-powered x-band signal, and the V1 beeps. The V1 also gives out this same x-band signal and sets off the the X50. So I've concluded they can't be tested together, which is upsetting because comparing the two is tougher now.
2.) The V1 mounts better then the X50, much more solid, but takes up more space on the window, and isn't very appealing to the eye.
3.) V1 picked up a second x-band false where my X50 usually only picks up one.
4.) V1's bogey counter is very nice, and so is the auto dimming, but its hard to tell which band is going off, and which band is the stronger signal.
5.) X50 seems slightly more user friendly, V1 muting is alittle complex.
More to come once I encounter some LEO'S.
