Thread: V1 durability?

  1. #1

    Default V1 durability?

I just dropped my V1 about 3 feet onto my center console. It appears to be ok. Are they pretty durable? Do you think it may be out of calabration?
I know, it may be a dumb questoin but I drive 500km to work up north every 14 days, this baby is my life line. thanks

You should be fine. There are very few mechanical adjustments inside these anymore...

I dropped my old 1.7 once from waist height to a concrete parking garage floor. What a terrible day. I had that model for a good 2 years after that horrible day and I never noticed any difference on radar or laser. The only difference was the scratches on my V1.

well this should make you think yours is ok..

pete from vr told me that somebody dropped the v1 from 30 foot onto a concrete floor and it still functioned correctly!

so there you have it, very durable.

was this drop for fun? or is this person 30 feet tall? and if they are not 30 feet tall, What possible situation would someone be in where they would have a chance to drop a detector from 30 feet? And why would they have the unit up there with them to begin with?

I am amazed to read that so many people are dropping their RD's.

Maybe GOL should do a "drop test", where we find out which detector can be dropped from the greatest height and still work.
Anyone willing to send us their unit
