Well I must say... that is exactly why we have high quality equipment: Such as the X50, RX65, V1 & (STi), because even though they cost a pretty-penny up-front $300-450, look how much money they can end up saving you.

-Why did you drive without the V1 (if I may ask), the slap-on the wrist RD policy there?

-Also another thing: How far off was the speedometer (MPH@given, or %)?

I knew this question would come up. Why was I driving without it you ask. I will be honest here, just plain stupidity. It will never happen again.

As far as the speedo goes, at 65 MPH it was 5 MPH off. Remember the faster the car is going, the more it is off. The test was done at 25, 35, 45, 55, 65. At 80 MPH it would have been more like 7-9 MPH off.

I heard that RD are illegal in VA, what do you mean by slap on the wrist for having one? Recently I was travelling to NC and back, in NC in three days I was driving there saw just one police car on the side of the road, was not even emmiting any radar or laser... As soon as I crossed border into VA, speed on the same hwy dropped frm 70 to 65 and in two hours I was driving there I counted 16 cop cars!!! siting in the bushes, writing tickets etc. Knowing that RD is illegal, I removed my V1, thinking, I d rather be safe, set my cruise on 70 and went to sleep... The next thing I know 18 whellers start to pass me... ****, how "safe" is that????
Anyway, anybody knows what kind of roberry your are facing if found guilty of posessing RD crime agains humanity?

The penalties for having a RD in VA are laughable compared to that of the laws in many provinces in the land of our neighbors to the north, thats what I mean.

From what I understand, the punishment fir this crime against nature, is a $100 fine. They cannot confiscate your RD. Thats cheaper than a reckless or speeding ticket.

In order to keep my CRIMINAL record clean (reckless is criminal in Va) I had to hire a lawyer for $1500. My vehicle was found to have a miscalibrated speedometer and had to spend another $500 for tires to correct the poblem plus the $65 to have the calibration test done. Then there is the $66 in court costs pluse $65 for a defensive driving class. All this just to have the charge of reckless dropped. Do the math but that is a new laser jammer plus a couple of new V1's.

LESSON LEARNED: NEVER DRIVE WITHOUT MY V1 EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

The streets of Va are much safer now since us reckless drivers get in trouble. Dont worry though, there is plenty of other REAL crime going on in Va.

I take donations for the slimy lawyer fund if anyone wants to contribute.

I thought that making RDs illegal would cause those who quit using them to not speed any more! How can this be?

Sorry about your bad luck! Use the RD next time.
