Default V1 saved my ass big time!

So get this... I'm driving within the city limits and in Calgary they genearlly use laser radar to clock people. Well I worked late tonight and was driving home pretty fast on the freeway and as I get onto the offramp to get to another sub highway I get this rear Ka detection. I was thinking to myself I don't see photo radar (they use Photoradar Ka band). I was a little suspect and thought maybe my V1 is mucked up (only 1 month old) b/c I didn't see photo radar and there was nothing there that would trigger Ka band. I couldn't see anything in the rearview mirror so I started to speed up. As I get halfway up the offramp (tight curved one) I get a 2 on my bogey counter also from the rear. I start to think to myself there is NO way that is possible in the city. The signal is strong and I even thought maybe I was getting radar ghosting from someone's leaky detector or something. I slow down to well below the speed limit and as I watch about 3/4 a KM behind me I see a ghost car that is following me. As I change lanes I see another ghost car behind him.

All I can say is holy cr*p! Never have I seen Ka ghost car in Calgary. I was glad my V1 saved my ass.

    I love my V1...

i'm glad your a** was saved, this is why its important to take the warnings serious until you've id'd the threat!

    Default saved my ass

I knew something was up when I got a Ka warning. It was just a tad bit bizarre to see something like that at that time and it was NOT photo radar.

I've never in my 10 years of driving seen something like that in Calgary. Maybe it was just b/c my beloved bel 985 wasn't nearly as sensitive as the v1.

Oh well at least I didn't get nailed!

It probably wouldn't have gone off actually.

Sell your v1 on ebay, You'll end up getting a crapload for it. I got 385 for mine, 28 dollars in shipping.

In the end - It costed me 11.50 to send it.

So it costed me just over 30 dollars to upgrade. Well worth it :-d
