Default SML so what look at this.......

You know it's not only sml result's that are fixed we can deal with that because we know better but even Roy has got it in for VR just reading through Roy's site's. It's things like this that help make Zombie's

    http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...-valentine.asp

"Escort and Beltronics have a single antenna that is bi-directional. This allows you to receive radar from front and rear, at distances equal to or exceeding that of Valentine. Escort and Bel also have the best filtering on the market today."

Note they didn't say "Valentine 1" just Valentine is this because it's a bum stir and they don't want there rear end sued off. Also "Bi-directional" note the wording Do you guy's think this is a bit of BS or completely fear?
VR have no friends in the world of detector makers because they don't support dealers.... is that fear to VR. I don't know why Mike V is a Pratt but don't he have a right to be after all smart people can be a little strange, does this mean we must dis him because he doesn't want to share the money around? I think VR are the way they for the people not for the money hungry dealers that will seal you anything at double the prize just because you think you have a re poor with them. Sad really
I hear that there is a bit of a email going around dealer's about Mike V at a detector test (so he showed up) and when the V1 got beat he went a bit strange on it... Really that email is just ssthitt steering ( a bit like this post really hehe) and not necessary just the facts pls.

I thinks it's pretty normal for a man to promote what he sells. I think Roy is more than fair to Valentine (and other products he doesn't sell) on this message board.

When I decided to buy a RD I did a lot of research. I was carefully considered buying either the Escort 8500x50 or the Bel RX 65. Then I stumbled on this site, and learned there was another RD namely the V-1.

I've read the article you've quoted, and the thought did occur to me that Roy might be a bit bias, since he did'nt sell V-1's. That's just business, I guess. I also read the article by Veil. I was leaning towards the RX 65 when I came across a post by one of the Guru's of Lidar. He posted a link to Veil showing the V-1's superior laser performance. Well after seeing that my decision was made. The V-1 was the one for me. The RX 65's slightly better performance with one band in the Ka range paled in the light of the laser performance.

I have the 3.826 and it works perfectly. I had considered buying another one then the 3.851 debacle happened. I will buy another eventually. Right now it's wait and see.

    8) HAPPY HUNTING!! 8)

I agree,VR does not have any friends because they do not have dealers like the other companies.

Mike valentine is a clever bloke, he's deisgned a great detector and because he's got no dealers there is more money for production costs. more advanced circuitry..

Plus his detector is upgradable and you wont ever get fobbed off when you ring them over a problem.

He's offering a more of a personal service by selling them direct, he knows how the v1 works and has a personal one 2 one and advises on the best solution to a problem.

sml dont do around the corner or over hill testing, and this is where detection and sensitivity matters.

they have also stopped doing laser jammer testing, why one reason is they test speed enforcement equipment and laser gun manufacturers are probibly angry if they are testing products to defeat the very enforcement equipment they test.

unless your able to jam the cops gun and not get a ticket thats the only ''test'' you can do, obviously this is risky.....

where as if sml are testing jammers and showing everyone which jammers works best then obviously laser gun manufacturers dont like this

because it not only damages their guns reputation but also makes the general driving population buy a jammer, this then leads to a loss in the number of speeding tickets using laser this then causes forces to buy less of the guns...

laser gun manufacturers sell their guns on the basis that they can take your reading quick within 1 second as well as store photos of offenders.

this makes catching drivers easy point and click, stand on a highway bridge shoot every car and then send them a ticket in the mail.

what the manufacturers dont like is people knowing that their guns are easy to jam.

vr biggest friends are their customers....

Actually, they did do laser jamming - but apparently blinder didn't like the results - so the results don't get published to the public.

    laserblaster has a point
(but if he combs his hair just right, you can't see it!)

look at all the people that buy their belscorts from less than favorable sellers, and they go to send it in for service and belscort states the warranty work is not free becuase it came from an unauthorized seller, ( most likely buying factory seconds from mexico, and reselling as new first rate equipment)

VR does not have any dealers, so there will be no hard feelings from getting screwed by an unscrupulous dealer/ or someone that says they are a dealer that is selling rejects. VR does not have "factory seconds" to pawn off to other countries. They can keep quality where they think it should be by doing business this way.

Imagine how many V-1's would be sold by the big box stores!! I bet belscort would lose huge market share if more people knew of the V-1 because of retail outlets,
Maybe all they know of is what they see at radio shack, and at the big stores, and home shopping network.

Before i bought mine, i though the V-1 was just a rumor I kept on hearing, because I never saw one at any store!

you know the deal, "my frinds cousins girlfriends brother has this real cool detector" and so on. But they don't sell it at stores!!
