    Default super hot V1?

so over this weekend I finally had a chance to drive to interior BC from Alberta (7 hours or so). This is the first time my V1 would be powered up for that long and I noticed that my V1 3.851 gets really really hot. Almost so hot that you would have thought it was accidentally left in the sun or something.

    Is this normal?

BTW anyone figure out the difference between 3.851 and 3.852 yet?

    Thanks

It is normal for a rd to get hot during use, don't worry about it....just don't leave it in the sun.

ok, so it's entirely up to you, if you V1 is working good...then fine. If you want, send it to valentine and have it checked.

Really its the nature of electronics like this to produce heat during operation, its just the laws of physics and all that...........the difference sometimes is the ambient temperature, exposure to sunlight and all that that make these situations different, like with my X50, if I think its getting a little too hot during my drive ill divert the airflow to the windshield vents and blow some cool air on it, it seems to work pretty well for me

    Default hot V1

Well my V1 even in the shade seems quite warm.

Not so hot that I can't hold it but certainly warm enough to feel like that of a baked potatoe.

funny thing about sensitive electronics like this is that they produce noticable amounts of heat, yet heat is their worst enemy..........how that works... dont ask me!

like I said every now and then ill send it some cold air to cool it off sometimes
