Last night I was on my way home from my mom's house on 494E, the psl is 60 and after my ticket last week I decided to do the psl unless I had a rabbit. About halfway there I got a rabbit doing about 90mph, so I wait a bit till he is a good distance ahead of me and speed up to 90, he exits after a little bit so I slow back to the psl or 5 over. Less than 5 min later I get another rabbit doing about 80, so I do the same and follow him, and he exits a little later. Almost right after he exits I get another 80mph rabbit and follow a little closer thinking its thursday and there wont be many if any leos. Maybe a mile or so down the road a car gets on the freeway and accelerates very fast up behind the Lexus I was following, it looked like a crown vic but I couldnt tell, I never got a peep out of my V1 so I figured it was some guy in a hurry. Right after that he lights up the Lexus and I slow to the psl as fast as I can without drawing attention. This whole time my V1 is sitting there with the A on the display, not a single peep or anything. I suppose it could have been laser, but it seemed like the leo was getting on the freeway and wasnt stopped. As soon as I pass them I get this big stupid grin on my face, then remember that I have $400 worth of radar detector on my windshield that stayed completly quiet the entire time, then I got angry and wanted my 1.7 back. Needless to say I am sending my V1 to VR today. I will not like driving without it, but it seems like this 3.851 is just a mall detector. I sent VR an email a couple of days ago asking about the ka bug that some people have found, and it seemed like it was an automated response, "If you have any concerns with the performance of your detector send it back to us with a note of what you would like checked.". SO I guess I will be doing just that, what is the turn around time for sending your unit in? This is making me seriously think about moving to escort, although I do still love the V1, if Mike and his team cant get their ****e together, Escort will get a new costumer.
