I updated mine several months back to this version. I must admit that "J" issue is annoying. I also am not overly impressed with the Ka range. I have a handful of situations where I got less than a 1/2 mile (probably just better than a 1/4) of range. I'll give it the benefit that they were around corners, or over hills, but it seemed very short in terms of the notice I received. Also, I got several Ka alerts where I never saw an officer and it never "J'd" out. Perhaps I just didn't see the car? Don't know. One case has an officer on the other side of the road with a car and he left his REAR antenna on. I assume the front antenna was off. I saw him and his victim before I got a warning. As soon as I was about 1/8 mile away, I got a faint chirp and then as I passed him, it went to full lock warning pointing to the rear and then stayed that way for .8 miles. .8 miles isn't bad in my mind, but I was shocked it didn't pick ip up sooner, even if it was from the rear antenna. Am I asking too much?
My question--yes I searched a bit--is there a better version out there now for Ka range? How about to completely eliminate the "J" issue?
I've done no "special" programming to my unit; maybe I should? If so, what?
I must admit, if it were not for the arrows, I'd be considering going back to the X50 for a try. Well, I'm not quite to that point, but I was definately not pleased with the performance on this trip.
