If one of the 5 bands is out of tune does this mean that they are all out of tune or can just one band fall out of tune without the others being affected?

hey i saw that you live in Texas and on your sig it shows your range you have picked on with your RD well from what i understand Texas doesnt use X band radar anymore, so what did you use to get that 1.4 mile detection range? just curious cause i have my X turned off because i didnt think it would be a issue cause im also in Texas
I dont know where the x band signal is coming from but its right by a stop light close to an airport. Evertime I stop at the stop light my v1 ramps up to all 8 leds so I made several passes and my range came out to be 1.4 miles with the front and back antenna.
Check the bands by state list, X is used in Texas, very seldom, but still used nonetheless expect county sheriff in BFE to be running it.... I have yet to run into a legit x-band trap in my meanderings through the eastern half of texas I imagine if you head down towards mexico or very far west of I-35 you will probably run into some. My concern is laser in ATx and a LOT of Ka but I keep x on when Im in the state.Originally Posted by xXCriticizeXx
if the LO (local oscillator) falls out of tune it can't pick-up any bands, it'll just false like crazy
So if I am getting good range with one band I should be getting good range with all bands correct?
yes for the most part, however Ka band is harder to pick-up over hills and around curves, it tends to be reflect less than X and K, but from my personal experience being an rd user, i think it's not much of a difference as some people on here claim to be. Radar will always be radar no matter what frequency it isOriginally Posted by Sajin
Texans will hit X-band out in the boonies, if youre in Dallas or Houston, its begging to go all Laser so I hear in Houston, Dallas ive seen with my very eyes, Laser, I was in Dallas for 30 minutes driving and I saw 3 different kinds of Cruisers (Crown Vics, Impallas, Intrepids) and all firing laser like no tomorrow
X band that you were getting at the light is a sensor. It is used to tell the light that you are sitting there. It is most often put up and faced at the left turn lane or right lane. Some intersections use loops to let the light know you are there. But even when they use the loops and they fail to work or whatever they will just put up an x band sensor. It's almost the same as a door sensor at wali world or something except on x band.
ive gotten X in downtown houston..
full bars/ screaming when past by cop at stoplight...not falsing
