Suspician of the V1 "E"

i may be totally wrong here but has anyone here gotton the E when their V1 wasnt hard wired or using non-factory cables or wiring. Maybe the E has to do with Hardwiring. like i said i could be completly wrong but im just throwign it out there to see if people have only gotton the "E" when there V1 was hardwired.

I was getting the 'E' with an invisicord, so I plugged in the factory cig plug, still got the 'E'.

Seeing as atleast 80% of the people here, if not more is hardwired - its going to be hard to have a solid base on this one. ALthough that is a good idea.

i hardly doubt wiring is the reason for "E", if you hardwire the RD wrong there's a good chance you fried the internals and it won't even display anything

My "E" warnings on the 3.851 were all on the normal wire and cord that VR gives you with the V1 when you buy it

I guarantee you guys that the "E" thing is not nearly as bad of a problem as some forum members have made it out to be.

yea, ace racer got the E and he just turned it off and back on and it was fine.

Totally agree....or at least for my (3.856) V1.
By the way, would it damage the unit if we leave it mounted on windshield all day in the sun?
