Why waste $75

i have heard it cost 75 bucks if u want to upgrade from one version to another that isnt a specific hardware upgrade..now if ure still under the 30 return thing, can't u just return your v1 and buy another and u wont have to waste 75 dollars?

is this illegal or do they not allow it or can we do it?

i'm pretty sure they'll take it back if it's within 30 days, there's no reason why they shouldn't honor your refund

Yes they will, and you get a 1 time shot with this - meaning that you can only do it once.

I didn't do it - and I couldn't. I would have if they came out with 3.888 or whatever and tried charging me. Now I"m past the date again and would have to fork it over or sell on ebay.

I think they just have a charge for taking back units after the first time, like a restocking fee, pretty standard.

Also, they told me they get alot of people that buy one for a long road trip, mainly the summer time, and then they return it after their trip. The system they have is so people cant abuse their return policy.

I had a v1 back in the late 90's, then went through a series of escorts. Got a new v1, when I called they still had my name and address on record. And it's at least eight years since I last ordered from them.

You guys might be right - its probably a 15% restocking fee.

The policy isn't neccesarily "Well Known" to be abused that much.
