    Default 3.856 Showed e

    First off, SON OF A F&*CKING B*TCH!!!

    Okay got that out. . . .

Now I don't think its totally the v1's fault - becuase my SES(Service Engine Soon) light came on earlier today - although I know its not the battery(brand new last month) but just thought I'd throw it out there that I got it - and don't plan on sending it in. I'll report back if it comes up again.

Sorry to hear that you received a E. Ive had my check engine light come on before but it was due to bad gas and my v1 never showed a E, but then again I have version 3.826 :P

Yeah, I'm thinking mine is some ugly gas too - I just put it in yesterday and made a trip which woulda emptied the tank - so its probably getting to all the crappy gas now - its gotta get filled in 2 days again so I'm preety sure that'll get rid of it - but it might be electical too - never know.

    I'm finding out tmrw.

did you leave it in sunlight, i personally think that this is #1 reason for all self cal and e errors but there's always exceptions

Seeing it hadn't been in the sun for about 5 hours - and was completely dark out - I highly doubt it.

im so confused, how long have you had your V1, because i have had my 3.856 for about a month now and ive had nothing but great range, amazing laser pickup, and excellent use of the features with NO E and a proper working J system. did you just recently get your V1 or have you had it for some time. I take good care of mine, when im done driving its out of the car or under the seat. It opperates in hot texas sun so as soon as im done driving i let my baby cool down and it seems as long as you treat the V1 nicely she will treat you nicely

Make sure your alternator is OK. Battery and alternator problems are often related. When I had my '96 Grand Prix GTP, my V1 powered off and on when I braked. So I sent it in for service. Then after a week or so the display on my BEL froze. Then the A/C quit running, then the transmission (electronically controlled) wouldn't shift. Shortly thereafter, before I could get to the dealer, the engine stalled and would repeatedly stall after being restarted. Turned out to be the alternator.

I would call VR and tell them your situation. Last time I heard, even if you get the "E" one time you should send it in. But then I read posts saying that if you just get it once not to worry about it. So I would call to clarify.

I got a buddy who has an error reader so I'm gonna go over there today and find out exactly what it is - that way if it is anything big it can go into service. I got a E on my 3.826 they said if it only E's once don't worry about it - if it does it again definately send it.

@criticize - I've had mine about a month and a half - I recently got this v1 I suppose you could say. I don't ever really take mine out from the windshield - well because I'm in michigan - and right now the highest it is getting is like 60 degrees out in the heat of the day - plus its rarely ever in dead sun unless I'm driving because of a) where its mounted and b) I usually park in the shade.
