V1 and Lowrance Iway 500C triggers the Laser alert

I just realize something tonight. It seems that when using my Iway 500C GPS, it will trigger the V1 laser alert when place directly below or close to the V1. If I move the 500C further to my left it will not trigger the laser alert.

What I am wondering is, will this affect the V1 performance in anyway?

Just wondering as I am leaving for a trip to Kansas City, KS this Friday and sure would like to have both the GPS and V1 to work together if possible.

basically the detector is alerting to IR light from the gps screen, keep it out of the line of sight of the detector and you'll be fine.

same thing happens when i put the v1 close to my moms navagation screen thing in her lexus

Same thing happened to my old x50 and Garmin. Has not been a problem with my V1
