So I just got back from a 4470 mile trip and thought I would update on my V1 experience (3.856).
2 E's. These came almost on top of each other. Ambient temp in the car was around 70. V1 was warm but not hot with very little sun out (nearly dusk). Elevation was around 7500'. Road conditions were the factor, I do believe, since I had to keep shifting from 4th to 3rd to 4th to 3rd (6-speed manual) in steep terrain with switchbacks. The voltage was definately moving around a lot more than normal and a lot quicker than normal with that much shifting so I think that was the problem.
Dozens of Ka falses (J's). The vast majority were J'ed out within no more than 2 seconds. Impressive.
Hundreds of K, X, and Ka falses. The range on some of these was simply amazing. Others were the run of the mill kind PLUS I found my cell phone causes an X false when it looses / regains signal. Interesting.
3 Laser falses. All 3 were Infiniti. No laser threats.
Amazing real Ka threat range of over 4 miles once. K range of nearly the same.
Best K = ~3+ miles
Best Ka = ~4+ miles
No real X
No real laser
Average speed = 55mph
Highest attained speed = XXXmph (well north of the limit on a lonely road in the middle of nowhere)
Overall, I feel the V1 did a great job. I saw several folks with detectors hit the brakes a quarter mile or more after I'd gotten my first alert. I never tried to push the limits too far but, then again, I didn't buy it to ensure I would be able to speed well over the limit for a long period of time.
