    Default V1 Upgrade

I just had my wife's V1 with no POP upgraded to POP and the upgrade now includes the Euro mode but turned off. Just got off the phone to Valentine and I was told that all new V1's come with the Euro mode already programmed in but switched off.

Yup. Euro mode won't do us much good in the US since it would miss some of the important Ka frequencies.

How long did it take them to turn around your V1? Mine should be getting to them tomorrow and I'm curious as to when I might get it back. I feel like I'm driving naked! My 10 year old Bel Vector 3 doesnt count.

I sent my V1 POP1 in for an upgrade this Wednesday and it got there Friday. As of today or Tuesday, I have not received the upgraded V1. I will let everyone know when I get mine back so people will have an idea of how long it takes.

Can you guys post up which firmware you got on the upgrade?

I'm going to send out my 3.818 out soon. I've emailed VR twice but no reply and it's a real pain cos I ain't in the US.

    Cheers

Well, I don't have it back yet but I started with 3.813. I'm expecting to see 3.824 unless there's been a revision in the past week or two.

I sent my V1.8 POP1 with 3.817 in to be upgraded to hopefully 3.824. It was purchased new in October 2004.

I just recently upgraded my V1. I sent it in via UPS ground. I called VR on the day it was scheduled to arrive and they said that it was there and it was scheduled out that afternoon. To make a long story short I had it back in my hand 8 days after I dropped it off at the UPS store. Great service from VR.

Aproximately how often does the v1 get an upgrade?

I'm thinking of trying one out.

If you are asking how often do they upgrade to a new software version, it seems like every 3 months or so they tweak and upgrade but I could be wrong.

The upgrade send in return took about 10 days but that included the memorial day weekend. I am not sure of the software version as I have not yet enabled the Ku band. On mine with Ku enabled (I bought it in January of this year) its version 3.818.
