Okay, stupid question, but...
Is the V1 control knob made of metal, rubber, or plastic? In all of the pictures I've seen, it appears to be plastic! I highly doubt they'd design it cheap if the whole RD case is made of magnesium, but it does happen.
Ignore the sig, as I *WILL* be a V1 user after Christmas. :P

It is indeed plastic, but its not like its cheaply made...... It is strong and durable.... plus if ya hardwire it, you wont have to touch it other than muting it

I was thinking something along the lines of one of these:
a.k.a. "high quality"
Maybe VR chose plastic because it would be a cheaper alternative... but it is not a cheap detector!!
or you could make a neon knob, gold plated knob, chrome knob, platinum knob or a spinner on the knob for all the bling for your V1.

After some deep thought, I chose to keep the factory default knob. I'm not going to alter anything.
