Lookin' good, although why did you hardwire your V1 to the far left of your windshield? Isn't it proven to have better accuracy if placed more to the center?

Nice install! Must have been fun mounting the remote display in the console and routing the power cable. Interesting that you don't have any tint at the top of your windshield. Is that normal for VWs? Most cars, at least when I've noticed have a dark tint band at the top of the windshield.

Where did you tap into to get your power? Fuse box?

BTW, that mounting location should be fine for laser. Not having a tint band would help laser detection.

That reminds me, I need to stop procrastinating and do my hardwire install. I've put it off for six months now!

my volvo has the same dots by the rear view

'brick' gave me a great tip on mounting the v1 by the dots
Cur a piece of plexi-glass(big enough for both suction cups) an use double sided tape to attach plexi glass to the dot area and attach v1 to the plexi part

Is it not curving to the left because of the windshield curve?
That is going to cut range in a big way if the LEO is shooting from your right side of the road.
That is the area that I use in my primary vehicle but visor mounted.
Nice thing about that area is it's great getting to the mute switch or changing modes.

    Nice!

The center-console ashtray/cubby is also a favorite among my BL/BP-chassis Legacy crowd, as we also have a similar area of real-estate there, in our cars.

^ Also, depending on how raised your "dots" are, sometimes, even a single or doubled-up layer of clear "packing tape" will allow sufficient smoothness to securely mount using the suction cups.
