    Default valentine one

i just got a valentine and its the most sophisticated piece of technology ive owned for a good amount of time. i paid 270 for the hardwire kit, windshield mount and unit. 1.8 with pop. ive seen threads of checking the version number but someones gonna have to hit me up so i can figure that out. i like driving with the valentine cause i haul ass down dallas north and g.bush with ease =). the only thing im displeased with is the visibility of band at night. ive got it memorized l ka k x so no big. although i do love escorts expert meter and totally visible Band identification. noticed that it was very sensitive in A mode. ive been running it in big L for awhile and its quieted down a little bit. i drive around dallas/plano/addison alot and pick up false K and X everywhere. i want to hardwire the unit high to the left or the RVM, and get a tint strip placed to keep it discreet. i love hearing the feedback of fellow v1 owners so let me know what you think, youre experiences, and all that pretty jazz us speeders like to hear.

tint strip in radar lign of sight= bad.. also reduces laser warning..
tint strip on top of unit, to privent suctions from showing is ok..
dont be speeding, as many cops in texas use instant on Ka, and K
invest in a laser jammer for added protection..
    oh and one more thing...
    NEVER forget the rabbit..
    be safe man..

To get the firmware number, hold the mute button on while you turn the unit on, hold it until all of the LED's light up. Then tap the mute once more to get to the firmware number. 4 number will flash on the screen, mine goes 3-8-5-1 making my unit a 3.851.

I have my V1 above the tint strip and I still get stellar radar reception, and I have never missed a single laser alert, so I wouldnt worry too much about where you put it as long as it is LEVEL, do not try to pick up UFO's with your V1.

Depends on your setup. I use the visor clip exclusively, and always have. But I don't clip it to the visor, I clip it directly to the "headliner". But this doesnt work too well in all vehicles...

no - visor must be pulled partly down and reduces visibility.

My car is on the small side (Corolla), so I attach it to the passenger's side visor with the clip and have it hardwired. It works very well even on the right side of the car. I use a winter glove to level the visor. I find that being off the windshield makes it less obvious, which I prefer.

i have no complaints to be honest with you, its the bes t detector ive owned and im not gonna give it up for awhile, i just ordered some new power cords from the site and i think i mightve gotten ripped off, they said that shipping was free on items in the part dept, and i did like express where it would be here the next day, because i need a power cord ASAP. but whatever. i shall see and i will be in touch with someone to get this **** hooked up
