omg 1 more complaint? you are a moron you know that? and the x50 doesnt have overheating problems, that was the original 8500. like ive said a thousand times. you are one of those ppl that have to bash other radar detectors to feel like you have the best.

    The Escort got a 94.9 and the V1 got a 94.8...

So i geuss that determines the x50 is a better radar detector...

An instant on radar will break the treshhold if you have it delaying strength not time. if you have to let it get up to 4 bars before it starts chirping it may be to late.

I talked to a guy at v1, and he sais if you turned on any time delays, instant on radars will not be detected. he said that is why it comes standard with their factory default settings

I fully support your decision to return V1 and paying $400+ for a useless detector is as good as throwing money into the drain. You had make a clear & clever choice and keep the X50 you are happy with...

StealJamal brought up the BBB issue so I figured I would set the record straight. In the past 12 months, Escort has 2 more complaints than Valentine Research.

Motortrend doesn't test RD's, SML does the testing and Motor Trend speculates on that data. They gave the Escort .1 more points because it is a great price and you can hook up a $500 Escort ZR3 laser jammer. Wow, what a bargain when you can hook up a ZR3 for $500 and have the 2nd best laser jammer.

Ford and Chevy sell better than Porsche in the USA, I guess they are better cars and more reliable.

I agree with how the automute works but if you are at close distance with instant on radar it will be way more than 4 bars (instant threshold breakthrough) if you are in a hot zone for K Band switching to A mode puts you back to 1 bar.

Also doesn't your X50 get a lot of K Band falses in the city on highway mode?

What mode are you using? If you are using city or auto sensitivity you should be unprotected against instant on as well.
