Default Got X-Band today from a LEO

I was sitting at an intersection that usually has a weak K-band false from a set of doors. The light was red and I was first in line. I started to pick up a weak X-band signal. I figured it was from the strip mall up the road, but it grew stronger to full alert. Then, I see an unmarked LEO pass through the intersection. Then, the signal ramped back down. That definitely caught me by surprise! I didn't know they still used X-Band. This was in Ft. Myers, FL by the way. I will definitely be more attentive to X-Band warnings now!

Good thing you had your X band on too.
Most of us have it turned off - thanks for the heads up to all FL users.

See that's the new secret technique I think they are using. They figure that people disreguard X band and have it turned off. Then when you get yourself a ticket and it says X band your response is: WTF!!! I thought NJ was the only X band state. FL now that's is news!

Good you are alert to those sneaky LEO'S

NJ for sure, however i can tell ya that most of the roads I drive now are all going laser or local's with KA. I have encountered X band LEO's in CT also up on 95 in straford. They sometimes pull it out up in CT but very very rare.

Still deadly if you think they aren't using it when they do! And have it turned off

I mentioned that a long time ago about police suddenly pulling out old X band radar probably knowing that most people have turned off X band. Great new source of revenue.

Seems there are small towns where X-band is alive and well still generating revenue

When in Wisconsin on a trip we encountered several X-band traps when traveling through small towns.
