Default Help - Need to hardwire V1 with no Direct-Wire Power Adapter

Can I just plug in a rj11 to the V1 and connect two wires on other end to power and ground?

I just want to power the unit. I'm currently not using any accessories.

Although if I can make a box like the V1 direct wire I'll be up for that.

    Thanks

That link should help you out.

I would be sure to put a fuse inline there somewhere just to be sure. A 2 dollar fuse can save your 400 dollar detector.

You can make a power only cord from a RJ-11 cord, but i reccomend just ordering the hardwire kit, its not too much and if you plan to use accessories later it'll be worth it

    thanks everyone

i cant get this thing to work.

i plugged an rj11 into the v1 and the other side i grounded the green and tapped a wire for power with the the red. i followed the write up for a subaru impreza to identify the power wire. i used a regular phone cable and a outdoor phone cable i made.

Could be a blown unit or you might have fried it?
So where did you get a V1 with no power cord?
Sounds like another stolen unit, I advise not to help this guy.

Sound fishy? Call VR tomorrow and they will send you a new power cord when you give them your serial number and credit card number.
