A little confused on what happened..

Last friday evening I was coming back from dulles airport on the local airport access road. This road is notorious for speed-traps as its a direct route to the airport and runs parallel to the two toll roads running beside it. I take the toll roads home everyday and pick up alot of LEOs shooting radar on the airport access road. Most of the time I pick them up .5 to 1 mile before I see them.

Keep in mind my V1 is mounted in the 3rd brakelight because they are illegal in my state.

Well that friday I was behaving, going the speed-limit, when on the top of a small hill I was hit (ka) with about 4 seconds to react. I just want to know if this is Instant On or what could of happened.

Was there anyone else in front of you? If maybe only 1 car it could have been instant on from him shooting at that car.

Please clarify this for me a little....I'm not completely familiar with the interior of your vehicle, but does this mean that your V1 is mounted at the *rear* of the vehicle (and I'd assume that you trail out a remote display) ? Correct ?

Sounds accurate. Definitely sounds like a case of the instant on.

Definitely stealth, but I keep wondering exactly how much impact it would have on detection capability. :?:

I would assume that in the OP's case, it was either an I/O encounter, or, perhaps, that the cresting of the roadway, combined with both the rear as well as recessed location of the V1, may have caused a "blind spot," thus delayed detection?
