the v1 will false you into a straight jacket.......
Dude, please refer to this post before you ever point to radartest.com for an honest review of anything.Originally Posted by vonivogtp

Then you supplied a link to a test that I already posted. You might want to check those results again because there is a certain radar detector that is in the #1 and #2 spots over and over again and it is the Valentine One. The V1 is the only detector that is in the top 3 every test not Escort, Bel, or any other detector.
It is not a "false" if it is operating on the same frequency as police radar and the Valentine One alerts to it. Just because your Belscort doesn't alert quick enough or hold the alert long enough doesn't mean that is has great filtering, it means that it is not doing its job as a "radar" detector.
As Deputy said- there are no falses. Your RD is responding to a RADAR signal. Makes no difference if it's coming from an automatic door or not. It is a radar signal. I agree totally. Blame the garage door opener not your radar detector.
I guess that's why Deppity Dawg never made SherrifOriginally Posted by CactusMan

Few examples:
1. If you hit a bump and the detector goes off from the shake: False
2. If you have a filling in your tooth that causes the detector to claim KA band: False
3. Garage door opener: Non-police radar
4. Automatic doors: Non-police radar
5. Alarm systems: Non-police radar
6. Other detectors: Leakage, a real signal, but one that can be detected as non-police origin
7: Neon sign (red usually): Leakage, but a real signal
It even clearly states on the escort website that no radar detector can stop alerting to door openers on the same frequency.
At the end of the day every alert is a false alert until you have identified what is triggering the detector,
could be a trap, a door sensor, or some other radar detector!
Sometimes you may get an alert in which you didnt see the cause, obviously if this is the case your situation awareness is increased!
shakey detector= poor design - I have head of some that do bounce.
fillings? nawwwwwww !!!!!!
non police source = still operating within the band allocated to police radar.
