Default I finally can use my V1

Well, w/ all the trouble I had getting the V1 to go back up on the window, last night I finally got it back up. The big suction cups wouldn't work so I went back to the smaller ones. I cleaned the window w/ window cleaner in a garage and used a hairdryer to heat the window up. It worked!

This is probably another reason the v1 ships with the visor mount as a standard option.

No cup problems for me either.

I did give the glass a good clean first though and wetted the cups a little.

clean the suction cups with soapy water, then leave a little bit behind on the cups before mounting.

    easy.

Cold weather gives ALL suction cups prob's bell or VR. It doesn't take rocket science to get it right. Maybe next time leave the hair dyer at home and turn your car heater on from a min or two

Hey Ravi that lovely lady! is that the woman that had all the prob's on UK Big brother TV junk show?

    Default instead

Since the car was in the garage, I thought the hairdryer would work and it did. I really wanted to use those bigger s/cups but they just wouldn't work. Maybe I'll try them in the spring/summer and just go w/ the smaller s/cups.

The big suction cups are (obviously) stronger then the little ones.

The cold weather is the problem.

Just get both the windscreen and the suction cups up to a reasonable temperature by running the defroster at full blast while holding the suction cup mount in front of the defroster's output for a few minutes.

Then mount it to your warmed (and clean, dry) windshield.

Now the important part: NEVER take it off the windshield! If you just leave it up there, it'll stay up their for years. But if you take it down, the cups will not return to their original shape - they will stay kind of flat.

If you need to use your V1 in more than one car, order a second suction cup mounting device from Valentine Research. They're not expensive.

    Cheers,

    John
