Default V1 laser alert set off by lightning ?

Was coming home yesterday in a very heavy thunderstorm down the M56 (in the UK) and there was nothing around me but as soon as a flash of lightning went so did the V1 alerting to laser it was pouring and I mean pouring the motorway was flooded with 1-2 inches of rain at the time so no motorway police would be stood out in that storm.
It did it 3 times a split second after the lightning is this just a freaky thing or would a strike of lightning cause a detector to go off ?

Laser detectors respond to light pulses in the infrared (904nm) range. A lightning bolt is a pulse, or often a series of pulses of bright light that covers a broad range of wavelengths including IR that could indeed trigger a laser detector.

Also, if the lightning strike was close, the associated electromagnetic pulse (EMP) could have triggered the sensitive laser detector in the V1.

out of the 3 times it went off only 1 was a CG (cloud to ground) the other 2 were flash lightning.

it it makes sense for it to possibly pick it up
